Book me up for an illustration workshop

My Illustration workshops are Interactive, fun and informative. I specialize in Illustration workshops for under 12 years olds, however, I can easily adapt my workshops for any age.

Don’t worry if you are not near North Devon. I can travel, or I even do online workshops too.

I usually start by introducing myself and chatting to the children about what I do for a job. One time, when I asked a class what an Illustrator does, a child replied with ‘They colour in pictures’. So I now tell children that I colour in professionally. What great job!

I follow on by reading aloud one of the books that I have Illustrated, so the children can see how I illustrate.

I then give the children a little puzzle to work out. I give them all the steps involved in making a book and they have to rearrange them into the right order.

We chat about how long each step takes, and I will show them some original book artwork.

In the past I have also done things like:

Drawing different expressions with the children.

Showing the children how to draw a character.

Made up a story together

Or do a craft that relates to one of my books.

I will usually end the session with signing individual books.
